WELCOME TO THE 2017 MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Prove your skills in Microsoft Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® and you could win an invitation to compete in the World Championship finals in Anaheim, California, USA!

The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship is a national competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office applications. Participating in this competition provides an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills, have some fun, impress student colleagues, and gain recognition.

To participate, pass one of the following exams:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Word® 2013 Exam
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Excel® 2013 Exam
  • Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint® 2013 Exam
  • Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint® 2016 Exam
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Word® 2016 Exam
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Excel® 2016 Exam

How do I enter a qualifying exam?

  1. Enter an Exam at the Time of Testing: While sitting for a MOS 2013 Word, Excel®, PowerPoint® exam or MOS 2016 Word or Excel® or PowerPoint® exam, you will be prompted to participate in the Championship. Before the exam begins, a screen will appear with competition information and an opt-in checkbox. To submit your exam into the Championship, leave the check box checked and then select the OK button. If you pass, your exam will automatically be submitted into the Championship. If you do not want to submit your exam, then you can opt out of the competition by clearing the checkbox.
  2. Enter an Exam You’ve Already Completed: Did you complete and pass a qualifying exam but did not select to enter it into the Championship? You can still enter your exam for a chance to be the next U.S. National Champion! Simply follow these steps:
    1. Login to your Candidate Home Page
    2. Click on the Championship link
    3. Select the exam you would like to enter into the Championship
    4. Select ‘Register Selected Exams’ button

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to participate in the Contest, you must:

  1.  be between the ages of 13 and 22 as of June 15, 2017 (and if you are an eligible minor you must have the permission from your parents or legal guardians to participate in the Contest);
  2. be enrolled in an approved academic institution (as defined by Sponsor in its sole discretion);
  3. not be a resident of Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Cote D’ Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Democratic Republic Of Congo, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, or Somalia;
  4. not be a person or entity under U.S. export controls or sanctions; and (5) have access to the Internet as ofNovember 1, 2015. Contest is void in Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Cote D’ Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Democratic Republic Of Congo, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Somalia and to residents of any other country sanctioned by the Office Of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury and where prohibited by law.

Employees, interns, contractors, and official office-holders of Sponsor, NCS Pearson, Inc., Microsoft, Inc., Certiport, Inc., and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, advertising and Contest agencies, representatives, and agents (collectively, “Contest Entities”), and members of the Contest Entities immediate families (parents, siblings, children, spouses, and life partners of each, regardless of where they live) and members of the households (whether related or not) of such Contest Entities are ineligible to participate in this Contest.

Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time. Entrants who have previously competed in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship final round are not eligible to compete in the same product track (e.g. Excel, Word, or PowerPoint), even if it is a different version of that product, but may compete in a different product track (e.g. a previous competitor in the Excel product track can only compete in the Word or PowerPoint product tracks).
